Scope and Contents

From the Collection:

The Reuben & Verda Tschritter Collection contains copies of photographs, three books, and a piece of framed hair art.

The Photograph Series contains 12 copied photographs. The first four pertain to Verda (Job) Tschritter's family including her grandparents and a sod house built by David Job in Emmons County, ND. Photos 5 and 6 are of the hair art which is in Box 2. Photo 7 is of Edward Tschritter's Confirmation Certificate. Photos 8-12 are of the Tschritter family in Alt-Elft including their homes.

The Book Series contains three books, one of which has been cataloged and can be found under Separate Materials. Die Palme, No. 1 fuer Kirchen Chöre was published in 1889 and was writted by H. Meyer. Zions Klaenge was published by the Mennonite Brethren Publish House in ca. 1914. It was written by JJ Franz and Dr. DB Towner.

The Object Series includes a framed piece of hair art. The art was sent to Edward Tschritter by his mother, Franziska Tschritter during the 1930s. Edward was the only family member to immigrate to America. The hair is from his mother, aunts, and sisters. It was mailed from Alt-Elft.
