The Jeff & Lucinda (Schmitt) Malm Collection consists of a hymnal and an iron cross. The hymnal, Sounds from Zion, is in German and English. It is dated 1911.

Biography

Jeffery Malm was born on September 1, 1955 to Edwin and Inez (Anderson) Malm. Jeff grew up and attended school in Kulm, North Dakota. Jeff Malm married Lucinda Schmitt on June 28, 1981. Lucinda (Schmitt) Malm was born on March 27, 1955 to Emanuel and Leona (Jener) Schmitt. The couple resided in Kulm, North Dakota. Jeff farmed around Kulm until he was injured in a farm accident in 1990. Since then, Jeff has worked with wood and metal, creating iron crosses.

Items were donated by Jeff and Lucinda (Schmitt) Malm on October 5, 2010 and August 1, 2011.

Separated Materials

The iron cross has been separated from the rest of the collection and is on display at the GRHC. An iron cross that was acquired by the GRHC. It was handmade by Jeff Malm.
