History
In 1991, at the Triennial Session in Niagara Falls, New York, the NAB Conference officially established the North American Baptist Heritage Commission. The NAB Heritage Commission and its staff “collect and organize North American Baptist Conference-related materials, provide research services, manage the archives, encourage the translation from German to English of key historical documents, inform our members concerning significant happenings, as well as many other archive-related activities.” The North American Baptist Heritage Commission is an auxiliary of the NAB Conference.
The North American Baptist Conference can trace its roots back to Konrad Fleischmann in Pennsylvania, during the mid-1800s. Today the NAB Conference works in many states across the United States, and also in Canada and some foreign countries. In North America, the Conference contains around 400 churches and 65,000 members.
