Maria Mactavish Collection
Scope and Contents
The Maria Mactavish Collection is consists of an issue of the Der Morgenstern newspaper from Saratow, Volga Region and copied German postcards. The issue is Volume 4, Issue 33, pages 259-264 from August 18, 1913. The newspaper is in German and is about Christian brethren in German colonies of Volga and South Russia.
In the collection, there are ten pages of copied postcards and their translations. The postcards have Russian printed on them, but the writing on them is in German. The postcards date from 1915 to 1917. The translations were done by Anna Glukova and Arthur Flegel.
Also present in the collection is a CD, made by GRHC staff, which contains a scan of the Der Morgenstern newspaper. Written on the front of the CD is “Maria Mactavish Collection.” The CD is located in folder 1 along with the finding aid and inventories.
