Scope and Contents

The George Jundt Collection consists of a newspaper article of Johanna Wirtz immigration story, a pedigree chart created by George Jundt, and a photograph of George Jundt playing the accordion. The newspaper article on George Jundt’s great aunt who immigrated from Speier, South Russia (Ukraine) in 1900, to Buenos Aires, Argentia. She then emigrated in 1904 from Argentina to Mandan, North Dakota.

Biography

George Jundt grew up in the Towner, Berwick, and Rugby area. He moved to Minnesota to teach in 1963. He was a professional accordionist and entertained five days a week in senior centers, nursing homes, and private parties.
