Photograph of all-neighbor volunteers for plowing rally in fall of 1948 near Berlin, North Dakota, to aid neighbor-farmer Norman (Pete) Peterson. Peterson sustained an injury and was unable to work. The “Rally” volunteers left their own fields to booster Pete Peterson in completing his fall plowing. Pete was a jolly and kind farmer who died ten years later in a fatal automobile accident.

Image 3 This photograph of a “Threshing Rig” in fall of 1948 has following features: strawstack, blower spout from thresher-grain separator, with pulley belts to steam-powered tractor (steam engine), with three hay-rack wagons to haul sheaf-bundles, each wagon with a team of two draft horses. This photo image was contributed by Paul Trautman of Cleveland, Stutsman County, North Dakota to “Old Tyme Picture of the Week,” possibly published in Jamestown Sun Newspaper.
