Christian II was my father. He became known as Christ M. Schock because he took on the “M” as his middle initial – from his mother’s name, Magdalena – to avoid confusion in the mail.
Christian was born June 2, 1892 in Bessarabia, South Russia. Magdalena was born December 9, 1893 in McIntosh County, ND. She was the daughter of George and Rosina (Hoffman) Rott.
