Scope and Contents
1. Certificate: Final Certificate of Naturalization for John Deg dated 16th Oct 1919 from Stutsman County, North Dakota.
2. Photograph, copy? outdoor scene, couple in front of Model A with running boards, man with moustache wears overalls, suit jacket and fedora. His hands are in his pockets. Bottom hem of overalls mostly turned up. He stands next to woman with hair mostly pulled back. She wears shiny dark dress, with long, full sleeves, skirt loose and gathered in pleats at side. Sleeves gathered in pleats at wrist. She holds young toddler in white by her left shoulder. Toddler has blanket and wears cap.
Information on note with photo: John B. Deg and Magdalena Borth (nee Streggor) married 5-25-1920 in Stutsman County. Photo taken in early 1920s. Magdalena Streggor b. 8-29-1889; d. 7-18-1974.
3. Snapshot, copy: rural scene, man holding lead of workhorse in front of barn. Some snow on the ground. Date on photo Jun ’76. Man wears hat and gloves. Horse has three white legs, wide blaze and white muzzle.

Biographical / Historical
Note from donor Linda Deg Lee: My mother loved church cookbooks and the community they represented. Her name is Norma Deg. She was born in Hebron, ND to Theodore and Mary Ding. She married my father Albert Deg in 1949. My father’s family originally emigrated from Russia to Saskatchewan in Canada. There are many Degs still in Canada from the Odessa area of Russia. My grandfather’s name is John Deg.
