Biographical / Historical

W.E. Brentzel was a Professor Emeritus in the Department of Plant Pathology. He was born on March 2, 1889 in Missouri and died on June 14, 1977 in Fargo North Dakota. He received his undergraduate degree from SE Missouri State in 1912, his Masters degree from University of Missouri in 1917, and his Ph.D. from Wisconsin in 1924. Before working at NDAC his was a Professor for Chemistry and Biology at West Mariland College in 1918 and then an Assistant Plant Pathologist for the USDA from 1920 – 1925. He started in the Plant Pathology Department in 1925.
