Pauline Neher Diede Papers

Primary among these are clippings of her columns and articles in The Hebron Herald dealing primarily with North Dakota pioneer life and her Germans from Russia heritage. Thorvald Ostbye Family Papers

Abstract Norwegian immigrant who started a contracting business and became a successful Fargo contractor. Responsible for building the Carnegie Library (Putnam Hall) and its addition on the North Dakota Agricultural College (now North Dakota State University).
Dates: 1884-1947.

William Cordes Photograph Collection

Abstract The Cordes Collection is a good representation of rural life in North Dakota in the late 1910s and early 1920s. There are several farm pictures including such things as plowing and threshing. Women are also represented in this collection. One particularly good print is that of a woman milking a cow. Many of the negatives also include group pictures, both interior and outdoors. The researcher should consult the itemized finding aid for specific image identifications.
