These photographs from the Fargo Forum newspaper company have been arranged alphabetically by topic. They comprise the oversize photographs of a larger donation by the Forum. There are aerial views of the Fargo area, downtown Fargo, Great Northern Railroad, and residential areas. Views of Broadway, an early birds eye view engraving from 1882, fire of 1893, Gunkelman & Sons Seeds plant-fire on November 30, 1958, the Forum building, and harness racing at the fairgrounds.

Abstract
The Oscar Forness Photograph Collection originally consisted of eight albums that contained detailed images of Fargo-Moorhead through the medium of photography. The albums were purchased by the donor at a Fargo antique store and then presented to the Institute. The photographer attempted to capture as many storefronts and streets as appeared during the 1960s and early 1970s.
