Scope and Contents These photographs from the Fargo Forum newspaper company have been arranged alphabetically by topic. They comprise the oversize photographs of a larger donation by the Forum. There are aerial views of the Fargo area, downtown Fargo, Great Northern Railroad, and residential areas. Views of Broadway, an early birds eye view engraving from 1882, fire of 1893, Gunkelman & Sons Seeds plant-fire on November 30, 1958, the Forum building, and harness racing at the fairgrounds.

Scope and Contents The Garrison Dam Collection contains 139 photographic prints, predominately 11x14 and 8x10 inches in size, taken from circa 1946 to 1954. The collection has been divided into six series: Aerial views, Dam construction, Intake structure, Spillway, People, and Power plant and tunnels. Scope and Contents This photograph collection documents the oil industry in western North Dakota in the early 1950s. Most of the photographs apparently were taken by staff of the Fargo Forum, likely for a special edition and series of articles devoted to the oil industry that were published in the newspaper. Most are 8x10 in. prints and have been organized topically. The images feature drilling, pipe laying, rig raising, "shooting" explosives, surveying, clean-up, as well as photographs of housing developments...
