Sherry Dean Olmstead was born in Forman, North Dakota on July 27, 1930 to Orville E. and Amelia Olmstead. He was working for the Fargo Foundry Company in 1950. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean War from 1952 to 1954. From 1957 to 1958 he worked for Scherling Studio, and from 1959 to 1960 Mr. Olmstead worked for Shirley-Onstad as a salesman. He operated a photography studio at 813 North 10th Street from 1962 to 1981. In
1971 Donald
E. McCracken joined his business and it became Olmestead-McCracken
Studio. Mr. McCracken took the studio over in 1981. Mr.
Olmstead now lives at Lake Park, Minnesota.
