Isabel Peterson-Legge The church was an important part of many homesteaders' lives, meeting their social as well as spiritual needs. A number of women who took up homesteads were leaders in organizing churches and ladies aid societies in their communities. Isabel (center with white blouse and skirt with a black bow) is shown here with the Ladies Aid of Enbar Butte Menighed. These women met every Sunday afternoon from spring until fall and served a picnic to the congregation. (Courtesy: Harriet Graupe, Grenora) Continue through exhibit or return to title page. Institute
