Liberty Theater

The Liberty Theater (at 115 Broadway) was the third name of the Ideal Theater which opened in 1906. W. C. Clavier took over the theater 1913 (it was then called the Savoy). In the winter of 1917, Hawk remodeled the theater and reopened it in February 1918 as the Liberty. The theater was destroyed by fire in 1924. Thus this image dates from 1918-1924.

This view looks along the east side of Broadway south from Second Avenue North. On the corner is Fargo Plumbing and Heating, Fargo Millinery, the Bristol & Sweet Harness Company (note the horse collar displayed from the third floor), the Liberty Theater, the Broadway Hotel (upstairs).
