Garrick Theater

The Garrick Theatre was located at 106 Broadway. It opened in the space previously occupied by the Bijou Theater. Opening day was September 27, 1915. A description of the theater was given at the time of its opening:
“The arrangement of the building and the decorations are the finest in the west. Canary and black is the color scheme of the interior and the massive beams across the roof of the house and the walls are decorated in a manner that will surprise the public on opening night. The private boxes in the rear of the theatre are also an innovation and will be appreciated by parties who desire to enjoy the show in privacy. Every seat in the house, over 900 in number has a clear view of the screen and there are no undesirable seats. The chairs are placed that they give the maximum of comfort while the space between the rows is generous.”

Frank Treat was the owner. In a 1926 advertisement, the Garrick describes itself as the "home of the golden voiced Barton organ." The "cozy, popular priced" theater offered "high class photoplays."

By 1932 the Garrick was no longer listed in the city directories and Grant's department store was in its place.
