Fairgrounds Buildings
The latest in agricultural equipment was on display in Machinery Hall (thanks to David Smith for the postcard image). In the poultry house on exhibit were over 140 varieties of domestic fowls, game fowls, and ornamental and pet stock (e.g., cats!). First prize, in 1909, in any category was $1.50.
On display in the Women's Buildings were examples of crotchet work, embroidery, painted china, lace, quilting and such food items as cakes, breads, preserves, jams, jellies, pickles, and pies. First prize in most categories (in 1909) was $2.00 and, of course, that prized blue ribbon.
