More people have started using smart phones, and in the near future, cell phones/smart phones will take the place of computers. I developed a mobile website prototype based on standards, such as keeping it task oriented, by filtering and showing the menu items for North Dakota State University Computer Science students (prospective, current, or alumni); shrinking the data by using smaller images; making the data fit the screen, eliminating the need to scroll the page; and many more. I followed a test-and-learn approach to develop this prototype, utilizing a design that works well on mobile phones and utilizing the same tools used in traditional web design and development.
