The feasibility of feeding pigs dehydrated potatoes is examined. Raw potatoes can be eaten by cows and sheep. Pigs cannot eat these. Second grade potatoes not fit for human consumption were postulated as being a potential food source for pigs. These poor grade potatoes piling up outside plants were deemed a possible source of spreading diseases to healthy crops. The feasibility of converting these potatoes into dried pig feed is compared with the cost of second class corn and other grain crops. Also, pigs wouldn't eat a potato only feed and only would eat such mixed with corn. Plants in North Dakota were not set up for dehydration at this time.
