A Modified Delphi methodology was implemented to create a platform for scholars in various disciplines to reach consensus on the concept of posttraumatic growth. Throughout the literature, there are many differing viewpoints and perceptions on the concept. First, the literature on posttraumatic growth was analyzed through a thematic analysis. The results of the analysis of the literature were themes that became the statements of the first and second survey. Eight published scholars accepted an invitation to complete the two surveys with their opinions on how they view posttraumatic growth. The results illuminated areas of consensus and areas of discord amongst the experts. Participants reached consensus that Tedeschi and Calhoun (1995; 1996; 2004) have provided a widely accepted foundational model of posttraumatic growth. The results of the study have implications for interdisciplinary research, development of posttraumatic growth theory, and posttraumatic growth in clinical settings.en_US
