dc.description.abstract | Image Registration and Fusion is a process of manipulating two or more input images through a combination of geometric transformation operations and fusion rules to obtain the information from the input images into one fused image. Currently, most existing image registration and fusion techniques are appropriate for grayscale images. There are a few techniques which support colored images but cannot be used for a large input data set. The aim of this research is to propose an image registration and fusion technique that supports large input data sets of both grayscale and colored images. To this end, we explored various existing image registration and fusion techniques. Based on the implementation results, we developed Image Registration and Fusion Application (IRFA). IRFA is a MATLAB based application which performs automatic image registration and fusion of large input data set of colored images, thus solving the two main challenges posed by existing techniques. | en_US |
