Back to map

On this map the extent of Fargo's growth in just nine years can be seen.

Near the lower center, one can see a "14" on Front Street just west of First Avenue. This building is the Minnesota House, a hotel with H. O. Kjos as proprietor. It was located at 114 Front Street according to the 1883, 1893, and 1895/6 Fargo City Directories.

Moving west on Front Street, where the "13" is shown, is the Skandinavian House hotel, with E. T. Moon proprietor. It was located at 214 Front Street according to the 1883 Fargo City Directory. Gone by 1893.

Just to the right of the Skandinavian House, is J. S. Campbell's Plaining Mill "17", and further to the right is "10" Merchants Hotel, owned by John Kinan.
