Scope and Content

From the File: The photographs in the collection reflect the company’s activity in real estate, as well as property damage. They have been arranged in three series.



The Fargo, N.D. Real Estate Series, are images primarily of homes and street views taken in Fargo between 1925 and 1930. They have been organized by north side Avenues, going south to north, then north side streets going east to west. This is followed by south side avenues going north to south, and south side streets going east to west. Enlarged 11x14 in. copy prints for three images, (2146.16.1), (2146.37.3) & (2146.38.2), are also availed in the Oversize Photograph Collection.



Then Non-Fargo Town Series features exterior of the Met opera house in Grand Forks, N.D., a street scene Harvey, N.D., a delivery truck belonging to Elsholtz Midnight Express from Hawley, Minn., and a Salvation Army building and street scene from an unidentified town.



In the Property Damage Series, there are images of property damage from the Fergus Falls, Minn. Tornado in 1919, the Heaton, N.D. tornado from 1910, storm damage to an unidentified farm, fire damage to the Anderson Jewelry Store, Fargo, 1963, and accident damage to a Buick Coupe automobile.
