Scope and Content

From the Collection: Two typescript versions of a reminiscence (16 and 19 leaves respectively) originally written by Mr. Arnold in 1923 regarding his parents, Alvin and Helen Arnold, who moved from Morocco, Indiana to Yankton, Dakota Territory in 1868, farming there for three years and then coming to Portland, N.D. in 1871. There is also a typed copy (7 leaves) of entries from Helen Peck Arnold's diary from May 28, 1868 to April 19, 1882; genealogical information on the Peck and Arnold families, and a newspaper interview with Mr. Arnold.
