From the Collection: The materials in this vertical file (the collection is currently stored in filing cabinets) are an eclectic collection of documents that have some connection to Fargo’s history and institutions. The files are arranged alphabetically by topic or name. In some cases certain categories are grouped together under broader headings, such as businesses, churches, schools, etc. There is no complete consistency in how file headings were established and no attempt has been made to provide complete consistency. Files will vary in the amount and the type of materials present. The most common types of documents include newspaper clippings, newsletters, pamphlets, brochures, programs, and articles. An item-level listing is available in the Institute research room for some of the files, although this is no longer kept current.
