Scope and Contents

From the Collection: The Julius Sgutt Papers have been organized into two series: Correspondence and Subject files. The Correspondence Series is chiefly letters from Emanuel Sgutt describing life in France during World War I. There are a few letters from Simone Rossi and Mark Staples. The Subject File Series is mainly Sgutt family items. There are some World War I souvenirs including an autographed photo of French Minister of Commerce, Jean Rossi, a drawing by Simone Rossi, a photo album of the Cote d'Azur, and a photo of soldiers. Other items include newspaper clippings about the Sgutt family, the Certificate of Election of Julius Sgutt to the North Dakota Legislature, and his legal notebook. There are also certificates and appointments of Emanuel Sgutt, and the engagement announcements of Julius and Anna Sgutt.
