Scope and Contents

From the Collection: The Noble Township Records document the business of the township supervisors. They have been organized into three series: Meeting minutes/Financial Ledgers, Treasurer’s Ledgers, and Road Record Ledger. The Meeting Minutes Series contains six bound volumes covering completely the years 1884 to 1940. Each volume includes the minutes of the annual meeting in March as well as of the Board of Supervisors. In addition each volume includes a financial section of "Register of Town Orders" and the reports of the Board of Auditors. Some volumes also have the "Statement of Results of Canvass" completed. The Treasurer's Ledgers Series is comprised of two volumes covering the period 1885 to 1927. They are complete showing all expenses and income of the township government. The Road Record Ledger Series contains a single ledger entitled "Road Record" and is very incomplete with only the Supervisor's Road Order section of 1888 being completed. It also has the minutes of a joint meeting with Kinyon Township held in May 1927.
