Scope and Contents

From the Collection:

The Irmgard (Oberlander) Stickelmyer Collection consists of two copied photographs, three cabinet photographs, and an obituary relating to the Oberlander family.

The first two images (2012.28.01 – 2012.28.02) were printed at the same studio in Odessa. The first photograph is of a couple, Friedrich and Christina (Brose) Oberlander, and the second is of a family, the Oberlander family. Both images date from around 1890 to 1894.

The three prints are all outdoor images. They include a street view of a town, a threshing crew, and a farmstead; dating from 1910 to 1920.

The photocopied obituary is for Christine Oberlander, who was the grandmother of Irmgard (Oberlander) Stickelmyer. The obituary is entirely in German and dates to 1925.
