Scope and Contents From the Collection: The August Schumacher Family Collection consists of one book: a Lutheran Bible in German. Inscribed on the front flyleaf “1944/Evangelical Lutheran Peace Congregation, Ashley, N. Dak./John Schumacher Bible/ Donated by August Schumacher Family.” The book is in a slip case, which shows some wear and staining. There are also annotations within the book. An accompanying note from donor Shirley Thurn states that this was John Schumacher’s Bible.
