Includes mention of his first job working railroad construction from Volga to Pierre, Dakota Territory (now S.D.), 1889 blizzard, his campaign for sheriff, attempting to stop a runaway horse team, his marriage, and births of his children.

The Cooperstown School District Records consists of records accumulated by Myrtle Porterville who took an early interest in the history of Griggs County. She did extensive research and collecting while teaching in Cooperstown. Organization and file folder label is based in large part upon her original folder labeling and organization.
