Biography

Norwegian immigrant from Vestre Toten, Norway, first settled in Wisconsin, later settled in Griggs County, N.D. Businessman, appointed deputy sheriff 1890, elected sheriff 1894; bought out Thomas Helland of Aarestad-Helland Mercantile, Cooperstown, N.D., appointed postmaster at Hannaford, N.D. 1899.
