In 1918, Ralph Rothrock and Fred G. Green opened Rothrock & Green Shoe Store at 302 Broadway. Not long after the store opened, Mr. Rothrock died. One of his last requests was that the store would carry on with the name R & G Bootery. After Fred G. Green died in 1937, the store was managed by Lydia May. In 1946, Fred R. Green, son of Fred G. Green, became manager and later owner of the store. In 1964, the store moved to 67 Broadway. In 1975, the store opened a branch in the West Acres Shopping Mall , and by 1980 the downtown store was closed. After Fred R. Green died in 1988, the store was taken over by his son John Green. The store is still in operation at West Acres under the name of R & G Shoes.
