The Economy Drug store was founded about 1909 by pharmacists Bernard Bentson and Oscar Hallenberg. The first store was located at 122-124 Broadway. By 1922, the story is listed in the Fargo city directory at 228 Broadway. In about 1930, it was taken over by Bigelow & Washburn and appears to have gone by that name for a short time. By 1932, it returned to the name Economy Drug, with Mrs. Katrin Washburn, president and A. E. Foss, vice-president of the company. The drugstore closed about 1941.
