Great escapeway : connecting North Dakota State University to downtown Fargo
Abstract
The primary focus of this thesis is to demonstrate how the Great Northern Rail Corridor, located in Fargo, North Dakota, can be repurposed into a greenway that connects North Dakota State University and its students with Downtown Fargo. This site proposal accommodates bicyclists and pedestrians by providing users
with a pragmatic and scenic greenway. The proposal’s result, according to its author, is
a design that provides not only a safe passage between the main and downtown campuses, but a community recreational facility, offering cycling, walking, cross-country skiing, running, ice skating and picnicking.
