Prytaneion Rediscovered: The Contiguity of Cultural Fragments
Abstract
The project explores the relationship knowledge plays in the development of communities today. By defining a space in the downtown area of St Paul, Minnesota dedicated to the exploration of cultural and historic fragments, the thesis projects the aspirations of the city and defines a direction. The building provides space for artistic activity, including theaters, galleries, and tools for 3D fabrication and other arts. The building gives direction to artistic endeavors by reconciling its own context in the city and reflecting the socio-political stories within through space for new discussions, presentations, and creations.
