New York City FC Stadium: Making Stadiums Worth Their Price
View/ Open
Abstract
In the US alone there is almost 250 major sporting
venues. Some dating back to the late 1800’s.
These stadiums are beautifully crafted, enormous
in size and can hold thousands of people for a
game. The only issue with these stadiums is that
they only serve one main purpose, to hold an
expansive amount of people for a sporting event.
What if this wasn’t the only thing the stadium was
used for? What if the stadium was open to the
public every day of the year? This is what I’m
going to dive deeper into. I’m going to look at how
current stadiums are underutilized and use that
information to design a building of this size that
is fully utilized.
