Designing Emotion

Abstract
This thesis revolves around the question
of how can we push and use certain parts of
our designs to influence people’s attitudes and
reactions to create a better experience for the
people who experience our designs. Through the
use and control over multiple characteristics within
architecture such as color, shape, material, lighting,
and a few others, we can learn to better utilize the
subtle effects they have on the human mind to
improve our capabilities for creating better spaces
for all. By combining the knowledge from multiple
studies about each aspect, it will be used to create
more positive spaces overall for everyone that
then can be applied to our everyday designs.
