My proposal is for the design of a new high school that would consolidate the schools of Colome, Gregory, Burke and eventually, Bonesteel-Fairfax. I am interested in designing for the rural educational philosophy. The idea that personal attention contributes directly to the student’s intellectual and social growth will play a role in how the classroom sizes and layouts are addresses. I am curious to observe how the people deal with the issue of redefining their community in an area where individual town and school pride is avid and often times fierce. I see a great opportunity in this project to bring something architecturally refreshing to the communities. I hope to accomplish this by studying the familiar features and forms of the area and abstracting them in a way that creates a space that is familiar yet modern.en_US
