dc.description.abstract | The focus for this thesis project is the need to represent the real or fantasize
the ideal in an urban environment with the design of a multi screen movie
house. Designing a structure which involves a transition from the real world into
one where space and time have been temporarily suspended. Through research,
digital technology has advanced sound and projection equipment. Current cinemas
throughout St. Paul, lack the guest amenities and visual intensity of the movies
shown there. The design of a revolutionary multi screen Movie House would expand
cinematic entertainment to the wonderfully energetic St. Paul seven corners
area. I believe the City of St. Paul, with an eccentric local client, makes it possible
for me to design an exciting, expressionistic and state-of-the-art cinema. | en_US |
