dc.description.abstract | New York City offers the Olympic movement the
chance to tell a very powerful story. It has eight million
of the most culturally diverse people in the
world. This diversity can only be strengthened by the
influence the games hold on the world. Creating a
structure that can embody the entire sensation of the
games is the challenge. It will be placed in the
Chelsea district of Manhattan's West Side. This location
is next to the quickly improving Hudson River.
This river is representative of the way everyone in
the world flows to there destination. In this case the
river will bring everyone together in the Olympic
Stadium. It will serve as the resting place for thousands
of athletes and millions of fans who are in
search of the greater glory and the sense of brotherhood
that accompanies the Olympic Games. My
hope is only to strengthen this feeling through proficient
Architecture and a feeling unmatched by any
other event on the planet. | en_US |
