dc.description.abstractThe project will entail a planned community for the poor citizens who live in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas. The development will include developing and sustaining a community through housing, public services, and connecting citizens. The thesis will examine the small colonias of south Texas to determine a new way of delivering the necessities of life, fresh air, sunlight, clean water, food, shelter, and how they are, or are not met. The thesis is called Community Design and Development by Necessity. A community center called Casa de Amistad and a development plan will be designed for the colonia of Laureles, Texas.en_US
