We know of the existence of many stadiums around the world, but as technology and culture change, so must we change the way we design sporting venues. At one point, we saw the Roman Coliseum as a standard for designing sporting venues. We can speculate that the focus during the time was built for functionality and capacity. There was no attention to fan experience and aesthetics. Since then, we have learned to condense the scale of these stadiums while updating to the newest technologies and practices that are being applied to these stadiums across the world. We have also cultivated sports in our cultures and cities. This thesis proposes a soccer stadium located in the downtown area of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, known as the Iron District, to bring back pedestrian foot traffic by creating a soccer stadium venue and fan base in the city. This idea could introduce many opportunities for the city of Milwaukee by integrating a professional soccer team that would be ingrained into the culture and multi-generational group in the area. It would also open up opportunities for economic, social, and environmental growth.
