Letters, typed summary of interview with Leonard Sackett concerning his father, James McDonald, an early settler at Caledonia, and the Grandin boats on the Red River. James McDonald died when a wagon load of wheat overturned and tipped into the Sheyenne River. Interview mentions Asa Sargeant and George Weston, early Traill County settlers.
