Includes information relating to Bonanzaville U.S.A., a reconstructed village and living history museum commemorating the bonanza farm era, located in West Fargo, N.D., and operated by the society.

Scope and Contents The “Data Sheets for Study of Growth and Decline of North Dakota Cities and Villages” and the “Survey of North Dakota Vanished Towns” data sheets are filed together for each North Dakota county. The survey sheets for the vanished towns are present only for the eastern North Dakota counties, extending west to Towner, Benson, Wells, Barnes, La Moure, and Richland counties. Abstract The research records of Thomas Isern consist of architectural analyses of structures in Bowman County and whether each is acceptable to be considered for the National Register of Historic Places. These architectural analyses consist of photos, maps, and reports. Also included in the collection are the notes and the official publication, Historic Architectural Survey of Bowman County.

Abstract The research records of NDSU Professor of History Thomas Isern consist of surveys of the historic properties of Buffalo, N.D. in 2001-2002. These architectural analyses consist of photos, maps, and reports. In addition to the analyses, the collection contains four folders of related information, including a summary of a 1995 survey and Isern and Hoffer’s 2002 updated summary. There are two series in the collection: Background and Surveys.
