Lake Hotel
Cropped version of 1880 engraving showing Lake Hotel, number 15 (2006.2.12 )
The Lake Hotel can be found on an 1880 engraving showing the building located on Front Street, near the intersection with 15th Street. The location was close to the Northern Pacific railroad roundhouse and shops, and near a large slough called "Long Lake" by early settlers. It may be this lake that gave the hotel its name. The engraving lists Butler & Peterson as proprietors.
