Abstract
Consists primarily of two handwritten reminiscences by Mr. Bernhardson about his parents and their pioneer life near Comstock, Minn., as well as his own life. They are titled "Pioneer life of early settlement in the Red River Valley, 1869 and up" (32 leaves), and "Farming in Red River from 1[8]70 and upward" (6 leaves). He also discusses the journey from Sweden, establishing the homestead, family life, early Red River steamboats, Hudson's Bay Company and farming. Supplementary items include partially completed Fargo Forum data sheets on Mr. and Mrs. Bernhardson, and a sheet of miscellaneous family facts.
