dc.description.abstract | H13 is an experimental herbicide that has activity on both broadleaf and grass weeds. This project evaluated H13 efficacy as a spring cereal herbicide by determining H13 site of entry into plants, tolerance of hard red spring wheat, durum wheat, and barley to H13, and H13 efficacy to wild oat and wild buckwheat. H13 caused substantial response when applied to wild oat and wild buckwheat foliage only and negligible response when applied to soil only, indicating H13 is primarily absorbed through foliage. All crops were sensitive to H13 applied preemergence. Hard red spring wheat was tolerant to H13 applied post emergence while durum wheat and barley have potential to manifest injury. H13 gave less control of wild oat and wild buckwheat than three industry standard herbicides. H13 was not an effective spring cereal herbicide for wild oat and wild buckwheat control under conditions observed in this project. | en_US |
