The First Exchange Club of Fargo started in the 1920’s but did not survive the great depression and members left or joined the Fargo Lions Club. The second Exchange Club of Fargo was charted in 1946 with 73 members. The club sought to uplift the social, religious, political, and business ideals of women. In addition the members sought to provide beneficial service to the community. The club’s purpose is to provide a forum for the exchange of ideas, information, and professional classification. The membership to the club is by invitation only, and to establish new Exchange Clubs, the organization must send in an application for a charter that has received the unanimous approval of the Board of Directors of the National Exchange Club.
