| dc.description.abstract | The Daughters of Dakota Pioneers, of Fargo Chapter’s purpose is to preserve and maintain the history of North Dakota, and to promote public interest in the resources and activities of the state. Members of the club must be a descendent of a woman who married and settled in North Dakota before the admission of the state to the union in 1889. The chapter is affiliated with the North Dakota Federation of Women’s Club. Members donated money to charities such as the Salvation Army, Nokomis, YWCA, and the New Life Center. One of their main projects was keeping Bonanzaville open by donating money, by donating money to keep the historical site open, and helped extensively in repairs at Bonanzaville, making the care of the place their pet project. | en_US |
