dc.description.abstract | The Fargo-Moorhead Women’s Chorus formed from a group of members of the Sigma Alpha Iota, which was a national professional music sorority that sought to create a chorus for the Fargo-Moorhead area. The first meeting of the Fargo-Moorhead Women’s Chorus was held March 6th, 1934 in the basement of the Stones Music Store. Each member was required to bring a quarter for the first meeting as their dues, which went to paying for the sheet music. The chorus performed throughout the Fargo-Moorhead area, and coordinated with The Amphion Chorus for concerts. | en_US |
